I'm a literacy support specialist who provides personalized reading and writing support for students with language-based learning challenges. I use evidence-based, multi-sensory instruction to build foundational skills, boost confidences and help each child feel successful. My approach is rooted in empathy and flexibility, and I draw from methods like Orton-Gillingham, Barton, and Logic of English to meet each learner's unique needs. I'm passionate about creating a safe, encouraging space where all children can grow and thrive.

The Barton Reading & Spelling system is a foundational, multi-sensory program that helps children develop the core skills they need to become confident readers and spellers. It starts at the beginning-focusing on sounds, patterns, and spelling rules-using a clear, structured approach. Based on the Orton-Gillingham approach, it breaks reading and spelling into step-by-step lessons. It is especially helpful for students with reading and spelling difficulties.
Logic of English is a research-based program that helps students understand the "why" behind reading and spelling. This curriculum reveals the patterns and rules that make sense of our language. It combines phonics, spelling, handwriting, and grammar into one multi-sensory program that is both structed and engaging.
In my sessions, I often use Logic of English after students have built a strong foundation with the Barton program. Once they're ready, we transition into Logic of English to deepen their understanding, expand their skills, and support more independent reading and writing.
